Duayne Hatchett's found object sculptures (1954-1963) were constructed by welding metal materials and objects together to create expressive form and imagery. He would allow the material to dictate the form and construction of each piece, creating a wide range of diverse visual imagery and spontaneous content that melds sensation to thought.
